"As a former player of the Peterborough Petes I am very honoured to be able to say that I played for the best organization in junior hockey. Being a Pete has made me a better person on and off the ice. The city and the organization have shown me nothing but respect and support throughout my 5 seasons in Peterborough. They were the best years of my life. The thing that I value most is the relationships I made in Peterborough and all the support from my billets, other billets, members of the organization and most importantly the boys on the team. I’ve made a lot of life time friendships while wearing a Petes uniform and I am very grateful to have had that opportunity."

"Playing with the Peterborough Petes made me into the person that I am today. Not only did it give me a great place to play OHL hockey but at the same time it gave me a great environment to become a better person. The organization, staff, billets, players, community, fans and city are all in a class of their own. The Peterborough Petes organization has aided me in furthering my education and to play varsity hockey at the university level (Wilfrid Laurier University) where I have had the privilege of making it to the CIS National Championship back to back years. I did not know how privileged I was to be a Peterborough Pete until I left the organization, but soon after they made me realize: 'Once a Pete, ALWAYS a Pete.'"

“Once a Pete always a Pete” is a familiar saying within the confines of the Peterborough Memorial Centre. I owe a lot to the Petes after playing four successful seasons in their organization, my last two as an assistant captain. To excel on the ice as well as developing each player as a student and a person is of utmost importance. It was four of the best years of my life. In 1999, I was drafted by the Dallas Stars. I went on to attend the University of Western Ontario, in part due to the generous education package I received from the Petes. I achieved a Degree in Criminology and Psychology while playing for the Mustangs varsity hockey team. In my fourth and final year there, I was the captain. I have now just completed my first full season of professional hockey in Germany. The Peterborough Petes had a huge impact on the person that I am today.

"Having sent four sons to the OHL and two of those to the Peterborough Petes, our overall experience has been a very positive one. The Petes organization has been very honest and caring, both at the rink and away from it. Sending a 15 year old child some 16 hours away from home was not an easy thing to do, but the Petes have gone above and beyond even our best expectations. If we had four more sons, I know we would not hesitate to send them to the O.H.L. and especially to the Peterborough Petes."

"We feel very lucky and fortunate that our son is a member of the Peterborough Petes. He had many opportunities but chose the OHL & looking back on it Zach has made the right choice. As parents Zach couldn't have been in a better situation & we felt very comfortable with General Manager Jeff Twohey, the coaching staff & entire Petes Organization. Being an American, lots of people say “how could you let him give up his education” but he's not. As a family what's important is to have your son happy & taken care of & that's happening in Peterborough. Zach's in the OHL & his brother Aaron will be playing college hockey next year so we have the best of both worlds."
