The Peterborough Petes fell behind 3:47 into the game and ended up falling 9-4 to the visiting Ottawa 67's at the PMC on Thursday night.
Cody Ceci scored shorthanded ot give the 67's a 1-0 lead 3:47 into the first before Joey West evened the game at 7:36, however Shane Prince scored his first of 2 on the night and 1st of 6 points to give the 67's a 2-1 lead at 11:53. Derek Mathers evened the game for the Petes at 12:28 and Andrew gave the Petes their only lead of the game 23 seconds later, but this time the 67's evened the game at 16:53 on Mike Cazzola's first of the game and took the lead again at 19:10 on John McFarland's first of 2 on the night for a 4-3 lead after 20 minutes.
The 67's added another pair of goals in the second period by McFarland at 2:42 and Prince at 10:20 to hold a 6-3 lead after 40 minutes.
The Petes started to mount a comeback early in the 3rd on a goal by Stephen Pierog, but the 67's came back with 3 unanswered goals by Cazzola at 5:13, Dalton Smith at 15:59 and Nick Foglia at 17:37 to make the final 9-4 for the visitors.
Next action for the Petes is Saturday night in Erie and Sunday afternoon in Niagara. They return to the Memorial Centre on Thursday January 26th vs. the Kingston Frontenacs.
