The Peterborough Petes took their player depleted line up to the Nations Capital on Friday night again entering the game with 10 regulars out of the line up and 6 affiliate players in losing to the home town 67's 2-0 with an empty net goal in the final minute.
Following two scoreless periods the 67's struck 12:49 into the 3rd period on a goal by Shane Prince and Dalton Smith added an empty net marker with 53 seconds remaining in the game to give the 67's a 2-0 win at the J Benson Cartage Centre in Ottawa.
Mike Morrison was the story of the game for the Petes stopping 42 shots and giving the Petes a chance to win the game. For his efforts Morrison was named the games first star.
next action for the Petes is Sunday afternoon when they open 2012 with a 2:05pm match up against the Sudbury Wolves.
