The Peterborough Petes dropped their 4th pre-season game to the Brampton Battalion in Newmarket on Tuesday night in a fundraiser game for Newmarket Minor Hockey.
The Petes opened the scoring 9:39 into the game on a goal by overage forward Brett Findlay with an assist to Trevor Murphy and built a 2-0 lead on Greg Betzold's 3rd goal of the pre-season at 11:06 with assists to Jonatan Tanus and Eric Cornel to hold a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
The Battalion got on the board and cut into the Petes lead 4:48 into the 2nd period on a goal by Mike Amadeo and evened the game before the end of the period on a goal by Derek Froats at 16:33.
The third period started out all Battalion as they added a pair of power play markers at 6:27 by Barclay Goodrow and 14:15 by Amadeo. The Petes cut into the Battlaion lead with a goal by overage forward Francis Menard at 15:08. The Battalion went on to add an empty net goal with 28 seconds remaining to solidify the win.
Next action for the Petes is Thursday night when they host the Mississauga Steelheads at the PMC at 7:05pm. The Petes open the regualr season on Thursday September 20th when they hpost the Oshawa Generals at 7:05pm.
