The Peterborough Petes and their Ice Angels are teaming up to support the Energy 99.7, Country 105, and OLG Slots At Kawartha Downs second annual Bras Around the Building Campaign.
Ice Angels Meaghan Thompson and Katie Chatterley are trying to spread the word with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
They are asking fans to bring their used bras to their home games Thursday against the Plymouth Whalers and Oct. 25 against London Knights for donation.
During the campaign, women of Peterborough and the Kawarthas will be asked to donate gently-used bras to the cause. OLG Slots at Kawartha Downs will donate $1 per bra collected to the Canadian Cancer Society to support breast cancer research. Donations can also be dropped off at OLG Slots at Kawartha Downs, the Country 105 / Energy 99.7 Office, or at the Canadian Cancer Society of Peterborough & District.
On Friday morning, Oct. 26, all bras collected will be strung around the radio stations' building at 59 George St. N.
Bras Around the Building began in 2011, with 4,595 bras collected in its inaugural year, resulting in a total donation of $5,150.
