The Peterborough Petes dropped a 4-3 decision to the Barrie Colts on Saturday night in what was the teams best game so far this season.
The Petes opened the scoring 59 seconds into the game on Francis Menard's 4th goal of the season, but the Colts came back with a pair of power play goals at 10:29 by Josh MacDonald and Anthony Camara at 14:04 to take a 2-1 lead. Eric Cornel scored his first OHL goal at 15:39 to tie the game at 2 after 20 minutes.
Steven Trojanovic gave the Petes their second lead of the game at 15:17 of the 2nd period netted his first of the season, but again the Colts cam back with a power play marker at 16:53 by Andreas Athanasiou to again tie the game after 40 minutes.
The game looked to be headed to overtime until Mark Scheifele deposited a centering pass with 38 second left in the third to give the Colts a 4-3 win over the Petes.
Next action for the Petes is Tuesday night when they host the Niagara IceDogs.
