The Peterborough Petes overcame a 2-0 first period deficit to take a 4-2 lead after 2 periods only to fall 74 to the London Knights on Friday night at the JLC.
The Knights opened the scoring 58 seconds into the game on Seth Griffith's first of three goals on the night and built a 2-0 lead 8:26 into the game on a goal by Dane Fox, but the Petes would mount a come back when Alan Quine slid a puck through Michael Houser at 10:25 and Austin Watson tied the game at 16:29 on the power play sending the teams to the dressing rooms tied at 2 after 20 minutes.
The second period was all Petes as Lino Martschini gave the Petes their first lead of the game at 4:57 ans Stephen Pierog (Pictured) scored his first OHL goal at 11:25 and the Petes took a 4-2 lead to the dressing room after 40 minutes.
Unfortunately the Knights would score 5 unanswered goals by Griffith at 1:27 and 11:22 while Ryan Rupert scored at 14:46, Tyler Ferry at 18:51 and Jared Knight into the empty net at 19:38 making the final 7-4 for the Knights.
Next action for the Petes is Sunday afternoon when the Petes travel to Sarnia for a matinee game against the Sting.
