Peterborough Petes forward Lino Martschini has made Switzerland's national junior team for the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships in Edmonton and Calgary.
Martschini informed Petes' coach Mike Pelino Friday afternoon he had made the team and then tweeted "best feeling in the world" on his Twitter account.
Last year, Martschini was the last cut by the Swiss team. The Petes top CHL Import pick in 2010, Martschini has eight goals and 23 points in 33 games with the Petes this season.
Switzerland kicks off the tournament Monday against Russia in Calgary. Most games not televised by TSN can be viewed online at http://hockeycanada.fasthockey.com/login.php.
The Petes have three players at the tournament including Austin Watson (USA) and Peter Ceresnak (Slovakia).
