The Peterborough Petes dropped a 3-2 decision in Mississauga on Friday night to the Majors after going ahead 1-0 2:23 into the game.
Dylan Fitze opened the scoring for the Petes 2:23 into the game scoring his 5th of the season and the Petes took a 1-0 lead to the dressing room after 20 minutes of play.
The Majors did the only scoring of the second period building a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes on goals by Brett Foy at 4:33 and and Mika Partanen at 6:34.
The Majors increased their lead to 3-1 4:22 into the 3rd period when former Petes forward Jamie Wise beat Petes goalie Andrew D'Agostini. Lino Martschini pulled the Petes to within a goal at 7:20, but the Petes couldn't manage to net the equalizer with D'Agostini pulled for the extra attacker making the final 3-2 for the Majors.
Next action for the Petes is Sunday evening in Oshawa when they take on the Generals. They return to the Memorial Centre on Saturday February 4th to battle the Sudbury Wolves.
