Otters top Petes 5-1

The Erie Otters came to Peterborough on Thursday night and left with a pair of points while the Petes were handed their second loss of the season.

 

The Otters opened the scoring 8:34 into the game on a goal by Stephen Harper and built a 3-0 first period lead on Harper's second of the game at 12:39 and Jake Evans and 13:14.  Exceptional status rookie forward Connor McDavid assisted on both of Harper's goals.

 

The Otters added to their lead at 19:45 of the second on a goal by Nick Betz and held a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes at the PMC.

 

The Petes finally got on the scoresheet 2:53 into the final period when Trevor Murphy knotched his first of the season with assists to Francis Menard and Stephen Nosad, however the Otters netted another at 19:10 making the final 5-1 in the liftlock city.

 

Next action for hte Petes is Friday night when they travel south on the 115 to take on the Oshawa Generals in their home opener at the GM Centre.  The Petes next home game is Thursday October 4th when they host the Sudbury Wolves at 7:05pm.
