Habitat for Humanity is hosting a “Fan Fest Barbecue” to kick off the Peterborough Petes Thursday night home opener and raise funds for Habitat’s new youth build project - the Home of The Petes.
The event will take place at the Memorial Centre parking lot from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Habitat volunteers, the Petes and Rotarians will work together to pump fans up for the opening game.
Volunteers will serve a barbecue meal for a $5 donation, and little fans can participate in pre-game activities including face painting, a temporary tattoo parlour, a bouncy castle and a slap shot game.
Fans can purchase a limited edition Home of The Petes autographed t-shirt and have a commemorative photo taken with a Pete.
Local Nashville recording artist Alyssa Morrissey will be entertaining fans throughout the event.
