The Ontario Hockey League today announced the exhibition game schedule for the 2012-13 season.
The schedule includes 50 games beginning on Friday August 31, 2012, and ending on Sunday September 16, 2012.
Highlights of the 2012-13 exhibition game schedule include four games featuring OHL teams against QMJHL clubs when the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies travel to play the Kitchener Rangers on August 31 in Waterloo, followed by the Erie Otters on September 1 in Goderich. The Ottawa 67’s and Gatineau Olympiques will also play a home-and-home series September 7-8 in Smiths Falls and Rockland. In addition to those four off-site games, communities such as Ajax (Sept. 8), Bowmanville (Sept. 11), Brockville (Sept. 16), Elmira (Sept. 9), Newmarket (Sept. 11), St. Thomas (Sept. 8), and Uxbridge (Sept. 14) will have the opportunity to enjoy OHL action. The Mississauga Steelheads will also host exhibition games off-site but in their community playing at Port Credit Arena September 2, Iceland Arena September 5, and Vic Johnston Arena on September 11.
The Petes will host the Oshawa Generals on Thursday September 6th and the Mississauga Steelheads on Thursday September 13th. Both games begin at 7:05pm at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
They will play road games against Mississauga on Sunday September 2nd at Port Credit Arena (2:00pm), Saturday September 8th against Oshawa at Ajax (7:00pm) and Tuesday September 11th agaoinst Brampton at Newmarket (7:00pm)
The Petes will open the regular season on Thursday September 20th vs. the Oshawa Generals at 7:05pm.
