The Peterborough petes beat the Oshawa Generals 3-2 in a Shootout on Sunday afternoon to earn their 2nd consecutive victory.
The Petes built a 1-0 first period lead on Andrew Rieder's first goal in the OHL 16:03 into the game with the assist to Steven Trojanovic.
The Generals tied the game 5:04 into the second period when Boone Jenner beat Petes goaltender Michael Giugovaz, however, the Petes restored their lead at 15:48 of the middle period on Francis Menard's 11th goal of the season with assists to Slater Koekkoek and Zach Lorentz.
The Generals scored the lone goal of the third period when they tied the game at 11:54 on a goal by Matt Petgrave sending the teams to over time where nothing would be solved and a shootout would be required where Menard would be the hero scoring as the second Petes shooter. Greg Betzold also scored and Michael Giugovaz was perfect stopping both Generals shooters.
Giugovaz, the games third star stopped 45 shots plus the 2 in the shootout combining for a 2 game total of 80 saves.
