The Peterborough Petes skated to a 3-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit on Saturday night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The Petes opened the scoring 3:06 into the game on a goal Jonatan Tanus. Assists went to Steven Trojanovic and goaltender Michael Giugovaz. The Spirit evened the game just 2:52 later on their only goal of the game by Nick Moutrey, but the Petes restored their lead at 11:15 on Brett Findlay's second goal in as many games to take a 2-1 lead to the dressing room after 20 minutes of play.
Following a scoreless second period the Petes built a 3-1 lead 4:16 into the third period on Francis Menard's 10th goal of the season and Michael Giugovaz closed the door the rest of the way to give the Petes a 3-1 win over the Spirit.
Next up for the Petes is an afternoon game in Oshawa on Sunday before hosting the Generals on Thursday night.
