The Peterborough Petes dropped a 5-2 decision to the Niagara IceDogs on Ricky's All Day Grill Teddy Bear Toss night at the PMC.
The IceDogs opened the scoring 14:51 into the game on a goal by Andrew Agozzini on the power play to hold 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
Lino Martschini evened the score for the Petes and 1600 teddy bears flew onto the ice 6:00 into the 2nd period in support of thr Salvation Army Miracle Toy Drive. The IceDogs came right back to restore their lead at 10:05 on a goal by Dougie Hamilton but again the Petes battled back to even the game oin a goal by Andrew Yogan who earlier in the game was named the Charm Diamond Centres/Petes Player of the month for November with just 2 seconds remaining in the 2nd period.
The 3rd period was all IceDogs as they added 3 unanswered goals by Myles Doan at 2:12, Mitchell Theoret at 13:10 and David Pacan to make the final 5-2 for the IceDogs.
Next action for the Petes is Friday night in London before travelling to Sarnia for a matinee game on Sunday. The Petes return home to the Memorial Centre on December 15th to host the London Knights.
