Petes shutout by Generals

The Peterborough Petes dropped a 5-0 decision at the hands of the Oshawa Generals on Thusrday night.

 

The Generals opened the scoring late in the first period on a power play goal by Boone Jenner at 18:43 building a 1-0 lead while outshooting the Petes 16-4 in the period.  They built a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes with a shorthanded marker by Scott Sabourin at 6:35 and a power play marker by Michael Dal Colle at 11:20.  Michael Giugovaz made 24 saves in the second period alone, and 39 through the  first 2 periods.  

 

The Generals sealed there victory with a pair of third period goals by Jenner at 4:47 and Matt Petgrave on the power play at 9:44 to win the game 5-0 over the Petes.  Giugovaz, the Dickies Hardest Working Player of the Game recorded 47 saves while face 52 shots.

 

Next up for the Petes is a trip to Mississauga on Friday night before hosting the Niagara IceDogs on Sunday afternoon at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.  Fans are reminded that there is a family skate with the Petes immediately following the game.
