Petes suffer pre-season defeat to Steelheads

The Petes suffered their first loss of the pre-season in a 4-2 defeat by the all new Mississauga Steelheads.

The Steelheads opened the scoring on a goal by Andrew Goldberg early in the first period on the power play before the Petes scored a pair of powerplay goals of their own on goals by Greg Betzold and Jonatan Tanus to hold a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes of play at Port Credit Memorial Arena.

The Steelheads evened the game early in the 2nd period on Goldberg's second of the game and took the lead midway through the period on a goal by Sam Babintsev before making it 4-2 on a goal by Justin Rasmussen late in the period.

There was no scoring in the third period.

Next action for the Petes is Thursday night when they host the Oshawa Generals at 7:05pm at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.  Tickets for this game will go on sale Thursday morning at the PMC Box Office.  Tickets are $7 in the regular bowl and $10 in the club seats.
