Training Camp opens with Fitness Testing

The Peterborough Petes opened the 2012 Training Camp on Wednesday with 56 players completing Fitness testing that consisted of eight stations followed by the Petes U Run.

The eight stations were:

Penta Jump - 5 continuous standing long jumps with combined total being measured.  

Bench Press - Maximum number of reps with 150lbs.

Seated Russian Twists - maximum number in 1 minute

Push Ups - Maximum number in 1 minute.

Sit and Reach - Flexibility test

Vertical Jump - difference between standing reach and vertical jumping reach.

Two Step cone drill - Speed, Agility, Quickness

Height, Weight and Body Fast %

The Petes U Run is a series of three 100 metre sprints that are repeated four times with approx. a 2 minute 30 second rest in between.

 

"The players performed very well in the fitness testing portion and we are looking forward to seeing them on the ice throughout the weekend" says Head Coach Mike Pelino.
