Petes Captain Named to Team Canada Selection Camp
December 4, 2006
On Monday, Hockey Canada announced the roster for the Canadian National Junior Team Selection Camp. Among the list of 22 forwards, 12 defense and 4 goaltenders was Petes Captain Steve Downie.
Downie is no surprise to the list as he was a member of last seasons Gold Medal winning team in Vancouver, scored the Gold Medal game winning goal and was voted as the top forward on Team Canada.
Downie will join a group of 13 other OHL players in Calgary from December 10th -15th. 22 of the 38 players in camp will be selected to represent Canada in Sweden at the 2007 World Junior Championship beginning December 26th.
