Petes beat Sting 6-3

The Peterborough Petes and Sarnia Sting are tied at one after 20 minutes of play at the RBC Centre in Sarnia.
The Sting opened the scoring in the first period when Kyle Neuber scored his third of the season at 3:31, but the Petes battled back when Jack Walchessen took Zack Kassian's lead pass to beat the Sting defender and slide the puck under Sting netminder Shayne Campbell for his 5th of the season at 15:35 knotting the teams at one after 20 minutes.
The Petes opened the scoring 2:20 into the second period when Mike Lomas potted his third of the season giving the Petes a 2-1 lead. Matt Puempel added to his scoring total this year when he netted his 12th of the season at 15:21 increasing the Petes lead to 3-1 after 40 minutes.
The Petes began the third period the way they ended the second with Liam Heelis scoring his 4th of the season at 3:38. Pat Daley restored his team lead in goals netting his 13th of the season at 5:13 and Jamie Doornbosch scored his 6th of the season on the powerplay at 7:47 making it 6-1 for the Petes. The Sting began to battle back scoring a pair of short handed goals 57 seconds apart by Brandon Alderson and Miroslav Preisinger. The Petes held on to beat the Sting by a final score of 6-3.
Next action for the Petes is Friday night when they travel to the WFCU Centre to take on the OHL Leading Windsor Spitfires at 7:05. The Petes next home game is Thursday December 3rd when they host the Sudbury Wolves on Student Night.
