Puempel Earns Silver at U17

Peterborough Petes forward Matt Puempel won the Silver Medal on Monday night in Timmins Ontario as a member of Team Ontario at the 2010 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge. Puempel was tied for Team Ontario's scoring lead with 2 goals and 5 points in 6 games with Daniel Catenacci of the Soo Greyhounds and Lucas Lessio who is property of the Oshawa Generals.
Matt will return to action with the Petes on Thursday night when they host the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors and Team Ontario teammate Stuart Percy at 7:00pm.
Prior to the start of the second period both Puempel and Percy will be recognized for their Silver Medals as well as Majors Head Coach and General Manager Dave Cameron who was an Assistant Coach with Canada's World Junior Team winning the Silver Medal on Tuesday night in Saskatoon.
