Petes Beat Gens 6-3

The Peterborough Petes skated to a 6-3 win over the Oshawa Generals tonight at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

The Petes opened the scoring 2:06 into the game on a goal by Justin Larson and added to their lead less than 6 and a half minutes later when Adrian Robertson blasted a shot through traffic from the point at 8:31.  The Generals cut the Petes lead to a goal at 19:48 on a goal by Scott Valentine.

Matt Puempel restored the Petes 2 goal lead 43 seconds into the second period and Adam Sedlak made it 4-1 with a power play marker at 8:02.  The Generals came back at 16:38 on a goal by Christian Thomas to cut the lead to 4-2 before the end of the period and opened the third with a quick goal at 22 seconds from Tyler Taylor. 

The Petes put the game out of reach with a pair of goals at 7:56 by Liam Heelis and at 10:58 on the powerplay by Brett Theberge Making the final 6-3 for the Petes.

Next action for the Petes is Thursday February 11th when the Petes host the Barrie Colts at 7:00pm.  The game is the Petes/Canadian Cancer Society's Pink in the Rink Fundraiser for Breast Cancer researchand all fans are encouraged to wear Pink.
