Petes to Honour 1989 OHL Champions

The Peterborough Petes will honor members of their 1989 OHL Championship team prior to their game on Saturday March 6th Vs. the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors.
The team will assemble in the Petes Alumni room prior to the game for a reception with their families followed by the on ice ceremony and the game. Following the game the team will get together for a private function.
There have been 17 players confirm their attendance as well as Assistant Trainer Will Huddlestone and members of the media John McFadden and Mike Brophy. Mike Ricci is trying to confirm his schedule with the San Jose Sharks to be able to attend. Players that have confirmed are Corey Foster, Mike Dagenais, Scott Campbell, Jamie Pegg, Joe Hawley, Steve Degurse, Troy Stephens, Paul Mitton, Mike Tomlinson, Dave Lorentz, Andy MacVicar, Ross Wilson, Mark Myles, Jamie Hicks, Geoff Ingram, Brian Hayton, and Todd Bojcun. Petes General Manager Jeff Twohey was the Trainer at the time.
“It will be exciting to see the guys again after 20 years. Several players have kept in touch or live locally, but there are other players flying in from opposite coasts of the country to attend, and Mike Ricci is really hoping to be able to attend” says 1989 team Captain.
“Dave has been pivotal in the organizing of this reunion and should be commended for the hard work he has done to make contact with his team-mates after 20 years” says Petes Assistant General Manager Aaron Garfat. “The Petes are very proud of their history and their nine OHL Championships. We look forward to Saturday night as it will be an exceptional event”
